Website Evaluation: Enchanted Learning

Hello everyone! Today, my assignment is evaluating an ELT website. The website that I evaluated is Enchanted Learning. It is an ELT website that aims to provide K-12 educational materials published online. It covers a wide range of topics and materials. Its target audience is ELT teachers who have students whose grades range from kindergarten to 12th.

Here, I have answered some questions to evaluate this website in detail:

1. Who authored the website? Is there any information about their qualifications or credentials?
Enchanted Learning was founded by Jeananda Col and Mitchell Spector in 1993. Their first aim was designing educational games for our own children and they created Enchanted Learning in late 1995. Audrey Col-Spector joined the team in 2014 as a content developer and writer. She is also a site administrator and social media coordinator.

2. What is the content of the website?
The website provides online educational materials such as worksheets, printables, crafts and activities.

3. Who is the target audience?
Its target audience is ELT teachers who have students whose grades range from kindergarten to 12th. Most of the materials published on this website appeal to kids.

4. What is the purpose of the website?
The purpose of this website is to produce online educational materials that emphasize creativity and the enjoyment of learning. As they stated on their website, they believe that one can learn the most (and retain it the longest) when actively involved in educational pursuits that are stimulating, logical, and fun.

5. Is there a date that shows when the site has last been updated?
Yes, the website is last updated on April 19th, 2019.

6. Accuracy of the information - Are there any errors?
I couldn’t find any errors.

7. Are there any broken links?
I couldn’t find any broken links.

8. Are the images of high quality and appealing to the target audience?
Most of the images are high quality but some of them are low quality. The images appeal to the target audience. All of them are very colorful and they are designed in the way that the audience (especially the kids) can find out easily.

9. How can it be applied to EFL teaching?
Teachers can find so many different materials such as worksheets, printables, crafts and activities. They can print the material that they want and use it in their lesson. The range of topics and the types of materials are wide. Also, activities are well-designed for especially kids.
