Historical Development of Technology Integration

Hello everyone! This post is about the historical development of computer-assisted language learning(CALL). Let’s see this development briefly:

  • In the 1960s and 1970s, CALL consisted of drill-and-practice programs with the impact of behaviorist views.
  • 1980s referred to learner interaction and programs mainly required communicative use of language.
  • In early 1990s, the computer was stimulus and learners became active in learning process.
  • Today, one of the major points is impoving students’ skills by integrating technology to enhance learning.
In the timeline, I’ve showed some major points of technology development.
